BHSN advocates for the rights, needs and empowerment of adults, children and families whose lives have been affected by mental illnesses or abusive situations.
- BHSN is involved with the Clinton County Coalition to Prevent Suicide, along with NAMI:CV, Eastern Adirondack Healthcare Network, Clinton County Youth Bureau, SUNY Plattsburgh, Clinton County Health Department, Champlain Valley Family Center as well as interested community members, implementing local programs and advocacy efforts in throughout our county and in our schools. For more information on this project, you are welcomed to our monthly meetings held on the third Thursday of each month (excluding November) at 3pm in the Clinton County Government Center, 137 Margaret Street in downtown Plattsburgh.
- One of the on-going projects is our Child/Adolescent Mental Health Directory which includes information and referral sources of interest to parents, schools and providers.
- Our on-going Anti-Stigma Campaign had as its cornerstone our "Brown Bag Lunch" series co-sponsored with NAMI:CV.
