BHSN has emerged as the leader in behavioral health services in the northernmost area of New York State bordering Canada and Vermont.  Located along the shores of Lake Champlain, BHSN has over 14 sites which comprise its 25 programs and administrative facility.

Who is the Staff?

 

 

 

BHSN utilizes a wide range of treatment staff including Psychiatrists, Ph.D. Psychologists, Masters-prepared Clinical Social Workers and Counselors, Nurse Practitioners, and Bachelors-prepared staff in a variety of human service fields.

 

Where do referrals come from? BHSN accepts referrals from hospitals, other human service agencies, primary and specialty physicians, clergy, the criminal justice system and self referrals.

BHSN accepts payments from Medicaid, Medicare, third party private insurance, and self pay. Some programs are offered at no cost to the client.

Detailed information about licensed inpatient, outpatient and residential mental health programs in New York State, is now available online at the OMH website, www.omh.state.ny.us/omhweb/licensing.  As New York's public mental health authority, OMH sets standards for the quality and adequacy of facilities and programs that provide treatment services to New Yorkers with a mental illness.  Visitors to the web site can search for licensed mental health programs by county, or use an advanced search to search by program type, program name, city and/or zip code. Search results display a program's name, address and phone numbers, as well as the program type and capacity, the age group(s) of individuals served, and the duration and status of the most recent license.
