Sponsored by STOP Domestic Violence One of the best ways to get through the crisis of domestic violence is with the support of other women who are involved in, or have been in, similar situations. WSG is an open group – clients may join at any time and come as often as they like. Women who come to group can be in many different places in their struggle to bring peace to their lives and the lives of their families. Some women are currently living with their abuser, some have left, some are staying in a STOP Domestic Violence Safe Apartment or with friends or relatives, and some are wondering if there is hope that their abuser can change. Women are welcome at group no matter where they are in their search for peace. The main goal of Women’s Support Group is to promote emotional growth and self-worth. Through sharing knowledge, strengths, successes, and challenges we can help each other work through whatever situations that arise in each of our lives. Each participant is invited to share her insights on the topics and situations discussed, however it is not required that you speak. If you are more comfortable just listening at first, we respect your right to do so. Respectful listening and confidentiality are important so members will feel safe coming to group. If you are interested in joining us, or would like more information about WSG, anyone on staff will be happy to speak with you. Contact STOP Domestic Violence at 1-888-563-6904.
