ADVOCACY ISSUES
BHSN
advocates for the rights, needs and empowerment of adults,
children and families whose lives have been affected by mental illnesses or
abusive situations.

BHSN is involved with the MAPP through the Clinton County Health Department which has as one of its foci mental health, specifically in adolescents. Through a subcommittee, BHSN staff are working with NAMI:CV and the Plattsburgh City School District (NY), as well as other area providers, implementing the Columbia TeenScreen project. Our Anti-Stigma Campaign has an annual "Stomp Out Stigma" Walkathon in May during Mental Health Awareness Month. Our upcoming walk will be held at the PARC Oval from 3pm to 5pm on Friday, May 11th. Come out and join us - we add interesting twists to the walk to keep it all fun! No pre-registration necessary; come to the Gazebo and register the day of the walk.
