The Child & Family Clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic that services severely emotionally disturbed children, youth and their families within the Clinton County catchment area. Clinic services are designed to complement the family’s strengths and designed to complement other services provided to the child and family within the community.
The Clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team which offers: comprehensive mental health assessment; individual, family and group psychotherapy; psychiatric consultation with medication management; parenting skills training; case management and 24-hour crisis services for admitted clients. In addition to the crisis services, the Clinic offers flexible office hours that accommodate families’ school and work schedules.
Our Child & Family Clinic also serves in 11 area schools. School-based clinics eliminate the need to travel outside the district for services and they reduce the stigma associated with seeking mental health care by having clinics in environments where children are already located. Such satellite clinics are designed to provide students with high-quality mental health services to positively effect school performance and strengthen family involvement in the school community. Consistent treatment and comprehensive service coordination among school-based professionals, our clinic staff, and parents assure each child is connected during the school day as well as after school for the services they need.
