Strong supervisory and organizational skills are necessary. BA in relevant human services field preferred. REGISTERED NURSE (Adult Clinic)
The Adult Services outpatient clinic of BHSN seeks a full time NYS Registered Nurse to provide health screening, coordination of health referrals to appropriate community providers, and illness/medication education for adults with serious mental illness. Work closely with prescribers to support medication treatment services, including administration and management of prescription medications, including injectables. Responsible for management of client caseload, including development of treatment plans. Prior experience working in a mental health environment preferred. Some evening hours required. Computer and keyboard skills for using electronic health record, CPR certification, and valid NYS driver’s license all required.
ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST (PROS and Adult Clinic)
This full time position will provide outreach and engagement services to facilitate outpatient mental health program admission and provide re-engagement services to mentally ill adults who may have ceased following their prescribed treatment. Will educate/assist individuals in connecting with community resources that can help in overcoming their barriers to treatment. This individual must have direct, firsthand experience using mental health services and be willing to share their history of behavioral health issues to individuals they will work with. Prior outreach experience preferred; flexible work hours including some evenings and weekends required.
SUPPORTED HOUSING SUPPORT STAFF (HOA-Supported Housing)
BHSN is seeking full-time, part-time and relief Support Staff to assist adults with mental illness in permanent supportive living settings. Positions entail assisting with daily living skills, advocating for clients, developing individualized housing assessments/support plans to insure clients are connected to appropriate supports in the community. Good interpersonal, organizational, computer/data entry skills required. GED/HS Diploma required; Associates degree in relevant Human Services field with 2 yrs. employment experience in helping capacity and/or certification of peer support training preferred. Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license required.

Duties include assisting recipients by providing onsite/offsite job development/coaching and conducting career/benefits counseling. Candidates must be organized to effectively manage meetings and documentation deadlines, willing to work a flexible schedule, possess strong interpersonal skills, and must possess a valid NYS driver’s license. BA in related Human Services field or 2 years employment in mental health, employment or rehabilitation field preferred.

Duties include outreach/engagement, assessments, treatment planning and individual/group therapy for adults and/or children. NYS licensure as LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC or limited permits accepted; supervision provided. Ability to work some evenings may be required; no weekends. NHSC score of 15. School based clinicians would work a modified school schedule.

BHSN is seeking a FT Residential Supervisor to provide fiscal oversight of a residence designed to assist adults with mental illness learn the skills necessary to live independently. Responsibilities include: coordinate and reinforce integrated residential, rehabilitation and clinical treatment of residents; monitor work quality / quantity of assigned staff and facility outcomes. Participate in the screening, hiring, orienting and training of new employees; ensures implementation of Agency regulatory policies and procedures. Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in relevant Human Services field essential, and/or 5 years prior exp. in a supervisory capacity in a mental health setting preferred. Understanding of OMH regulations preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal needed. Strong supervision, time management, & computer/keyboarding skills essential.

Will develop service plans following regulatory policies and procedures and document progress. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in human services field preferred. Valid NYS driver’s license required. CPR certified or able to achieve certification within 6 months of hire. Basic computer and keyboarding skills essential. Must be able to climb and descend stairs, perform light household indoor and outdoor chores, and react quickly to situations inside and outside the residence. All shifts are stay awake.

Provide oversight, leadership and direct supervision to the agency’s direct services; reports to the CEO regarding all work activities; reports on direct services activities to the Board of Directors. Requirements include a Masters Degree in healthcare, behavioral healthcare or related field including MSW, MRC, MSN, PhD. Also must be a NYS Office of Mental Health Qualified Health Professional with appropriate current and active professional NYS license/certification. 7 years post masters professional direct practice experience including 7 years supervisory and leadership experience in a mental health treatment or rehabilitation setting.
