ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Adult Clinic/Child Clinic)
BHSN seeks F/T Admin. Assistant to provide shared support to the Adult Services and Child/Family Clinics. Will perform administrative and customer service related tasks with a primary focus on assisting with billing compliance for the clinics. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
ADULT CARE MANAGER (Adult Care Management – Health Home)
Working within the Health Home, Adult Care Mgmt. division of BHSN, a full time individual is needed to organize client care to improve their health outcomes and reduce unnecessary emergency room and inpatient hospitalizations. Will assess client’s needs; develop and implement comprehensive care plans; and coordinate personnel and resources needed to facilitate the appropriate delivery of health care services. Will document all services and conduct care coordination meetings as clinically indicated and in conjunction with regulatory policies and procedures. Bachelor’s degree in human services field; or NYS licensed RN with a bachelor’s degree; or bachelor’s degree in any field with five years’ experience working directly with persons with behavioral health diagnosis; or a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance abuse Counselor (CASAC). Excellent engagement and writing skills essential. Valid NYS driver’s license and CPR/Safety training certification required.
CLINICIAN (Adult Clinic)
BHSN is seeking a F/T Clinician for its outpatient Adult Clinic. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and individual/group therapy. Will include evening hours as assigned. NY State licensure in Social Work (LCSW) required; LCSW-R preferred.
The Employee Assistance Services Program of BHSN is seeking a part-time or full time Clinician to provide diagnostic evaluation, motivational counseling, and referral activities. Qualified candidates must be an LMHC, LCSW-R, or CEAP, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical mental health setting. Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier and reliable transportation required.
DRIVER (P/T) (Transportation)

FAMILY SPECIALIST (Family Corner)
The Family Corner, a Therapeutic Foster Care Program, is seeking a full-time case manager/ community liaison to plan and coordinate the care and treatment for children in a treatment foster care setting. Strong interpersonal, writing and organizational skills necessary; prior human service experience essential. Bachelor’s degree in human services field as well as valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier and clean driving record essential.
HOMESTEADS ON AMPERSAND SUPPORT STAFF (HOA)
BHSN is seeking a full-time, part-time & relief Support Staff to assist adults with mental illness in permanent supportive living settings. Position entails assisting with daily living skills, advocating for clients, developing individualized housing assessments and support plans to insure clients are connected to appropriate supports in the community. Good interpersonal, organizational, computer and data entry skills required. GED/HS Diploma required; Associates degree in relevant Human Services field with 2 yrs. employment experience in a helping capacity and/or certification of peer support training preferred. Reliable transportation and valid NYS driver’s license for required travel.
INDIVIDUALIZED CARE COORDINATOR (HCBS Waiver)
The Home & Community Based Services Waiver Program is seeking a full-time Individualized Care Coordinator to work with seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) youth at high risk for out-of-home placement, and their families. The duties include providing case management services, developing service plans, coordination of multiple services, family counseling as well as some skill building work with the child. The work, much of it being done in the family home and community, is geared toward helping the families overcome barriers and acquiring needed skills to help the child overcome his/her SED. Qualifications include: Master’s degree in a human services field & 2 yrs. experience. Degree must be in a human services field, experience must be providing similar services to mentally disabled (preferably SED) youth and can be pre masters. Training and experience in family therapy is also desired. Some evening and weekend work will be expected. Seek a flexible, energetic, take-charge person who can work with a range of people, including parents, professionals and youth. Strong verbal and written communication as well as organizational skills needed. Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier and in-county travel required.
PEER DRIVER (PROS)
BHSN is seeking a qualified Peer Driver to provide transportation assistance to help individuals keep wellness appointments. Will track daily mileage of transports, perform maintenance checks of vehicle, and insure that all required regulatory paperwork is completed. Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier required. Must maintain an excellent driving record as a requirement of continued employment. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
PROGRAM SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Family Corner)
The Family Corner, a Therapeutic Foster Care Program at Behavioral Health Services North, is seeking a Program Support Specialist to assist with the pre-placement process, have regular face-to-face contact with youth and their discharge resource, coordinate visitation schedules, provide structure, feedback and support, and provide transportation to visits when necessary. Will provide post discharge contacts and linkage to appropriate community services. Bachelor’s degree in human services field required with a minimum of three years’ experience in providing services to children and families. Experience may substitute for field of study but not for minimum degree requirement. Advanced degrees, especially if supplemented by direct, practical experience, are preferred. For Master’s level staff, one year of experience providing services to children and families or a similar student experience, is required as well as a valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier and clean driving record essential.
REGISTERED NURSE (Adult Clinic)
The Adult Services Outpatient Clinic of BHSN seeks a full-time NYS Registered Nurse to
provide health screening, coordination of health referrals to appropriate community providers, and illness/medication education for adults with serious mental illness. Will work closely with prescribers to support medication treatment services, including administration and management of prescription medications, including injectables. Responsible for management of client caseload, including development of treatment plans. Prior experience working in a mental health environment preferred. Some evening hours required. Computer and keyboard skills for using electronic health record, CPR certification, and valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier all required.
RESIDENTIAL RELIEF STAFF (Twin Oaks)
Twin Oaks, a community residence for individuals in recovery from chemical dependency, is seeking dependable and responsible individuals for Relief positions. Duties may include: assisting counselors, providing client supervision in a residential setting, recordkeeping, filing, medication supervision and accountability and monitoring daily activities as necessary. Must be at least 25 years of age to apply. Valid NYS driver’s license for at least three years and reliable transportation a must. Experience in human services related field preferred. Training provided. Relief hours will vary.
RESIDENTIAL RELIEF STAFF (All Shifts) (Adult Residential)
Breakthrough II, a community residence for mentally ill adults, is seeking dependable and responsible adults for Relief positions. Duties include assisting counselors, providing client supervision in residential setting, record keeping and monitoring daily activities as necessary. Training provided. Previous experience in human services field preferred. Hours are Midnight to 8:00 AM and various other shifts to work on an as-needed basis available.
RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT STAFF (F/T, P/T, Relief) (Adult Residential)
Breakthrough II, a community residence for adults, is seeking candidates to assist residents with daily needs including medication management, transportation, linkage to other services, care coordination and discharge planning. Will develop service plans following regulatory policies and procedures and document progress. Shifts available: Mon – Fri 4PM – 12AM and Mon – Fri 4PM to 8PM in addition to “as needed” positions . Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in human services field preferred. Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier required. CPR certified or able to achieve certification within 6 months of hire. Basic computer and keyboarding skills essential. Must be able to climb/descend stairs, perform light household indoor and outdoor chores, and react quickly to situations inside and outside the residence.
