When you work for BHSN, you will be classified in one of three categories of employees: Relief, Part-time or Full-time. A Relief staff member works on an "as needed" basis; a Part-time staff member usually works between 20 and 39 hours per week depending on the program/job description. A Full-time staff member is someone who normally works 40 hours per week.



BHSN seeks a full time Customer Service Representative to perform varied check-out functions in our busy medical office. Duties include: verify client information; appointment scheduling; answer incoming calls; obtain insurance authorizations; and perform chart audit functions. Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism are essential as this  position provides a link between patients and their health care provider.  High school diploma or equivalent is required. Organizational / computer skills required. Prior customer service experience in a medical environment preferred.



BHSN’s outpatient Adult Services program seeks a full time NYS LPN to provide health screening, coordination of health referrals, and illness/medication education for adults with serious mental illness. Will work closely with prescribers to support medication treatment services including administration and management of prescription medications, including injectables. Responsible for management of client caseload, including development of treatment plans. Computer and keyboard skills for using Electronic Health Record, CPR certification, and valid NYS driver’s license all required. Prior experience in a mental health setting a plus. 


ADVOCATE  (STOP Domestic Violence - Southern Franklin County)

The STOP Domestic Violence program of BHSN has a Full Time Advocate position available in southern Franklin County. Duties include: assisting clients with safety planning, providing local referrals, some transportation, and supportive counseling. A variety of skills and a positive attitude are required in this position. Bachelor's degree preferred, must be at least 23 years of age to apply. Valid NYS driver's license for at least three years and reliable transportation required. Training provided.

(Full Time)

BHSN seeks highly accurate, detail oriented candidate for Full Time position in the Finance Dept. Primary duties include: claiming reimbursement for state and local contracts, accounts payable, preparing weekly deposits and other Finance Dept. clerical duties as assigned. Qualifications: BS in Accounting preferred; related experience may substitute for degree. Experience with a sizable Chart of Accounts and General Ledger is highly desirable.


Behavioral Health Services North, a progressive nonprofit providing a wide array of behavioral health and social services, is seeking a Director of Development and Community Relations to partner with the leadership team in the areas of fundraising, donor relations, marketing and public relations. Responsibilities include the development and execution of a comprehensive fund development plan and an annual marketing and public relations plan to assist the Agency in achieving its strategic goals.

The Director will also be responsible for media relations, communication materials and market research. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or other related field required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience that includes annual campaigns, grant writing and marketing/PR; major gifts and planned giving experience a plus.

BHSN is seeking a Director of Human Resources to provide leadership in developing the human capital to support the long-term growth and success of the Agency. The selected individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to build management capacity, organizational alignment, a performance management program, and programs to support a positive, successful work climate.

The Director will also oversee the administration of human resource policies, procedures and programs that support business goals and strategies across the Agency and be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. A Bachelor’s degree in HR is required; a Master’s degree is preferred with advanced HR/OD credentials a plus.

Requires 10+ years progressive experience in the Human Resources field with a minimum of 3 years leading an HR function; background in healthcare a plus.


BHSN seeks a part time (35 hrs/wk) Maintenance Supervisor to assist Facilities Mgr. to implement preventative and ongoing daily maintenance/repair functions at all Agency facilities, including equipment and grounds. Will participate in the supervision, preparation and administration of work and project schedules; participate in on-call coverage for facility emergencies; and insure the safe transport of Agency program recipients as needed.  

Qualifications include: High school diploma/GED. Minimum of 3 yrs. exper. and responsibility in maintenance field. Strong mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of electrical / mechanical / HVAC systems; excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills; Valid NYS Driver’s license & reliable transportation required. CDL license required or ability to qualify for and obtain within 3 months of employment.  Computer skills and ability to lift at least 25 pounds essential. Familiarity with local building codes, carpentry skills, supervisory exper. preferred. 


BHSN is seeking a qualified individual for the full time position of Rehabilitation Practitioner to provide individual and group rehabilitation interventions designed to teach skills and offer support to adults with mental illness participating in Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS) as they pursue rehabilitation goals.  Qualifications include: BA/BS degree in a human services related field, or AA degree in a human services related field with 1 to 2 years experience in mental health or rehabilitation environment. CPR certification preferred. Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required.


BHSN seeks a candidate for a 16 hr/wk position. Candidate must be highly organized, pay great attention to detail, and have the ability to work independently. Duties include, but are not limited to: clerical support to the BHSN Finance Department, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous data entry and filing experience preferred.


CLINICIANS (Adult Clinic)
BHSN is seeking qualified individuals for full-time positions in its outpatient Adult Clinic. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, individual, family, and group therapy, and if credentialed, psychological testing. NY State licensure in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling required (permit acceptable). 

Twin Oaks, a community residence for individuals in recovery from chemical dependency, is seeking dependable and responsible individuals for Relief positions. Duties may include: assisting counselors, providing client supervision in a residential setting, recordkeeping, filing, medication supervision and accountability and monitoring daily activities as necessary. Must be at least 25 years of age to apply. Valid NYS driver’s license for at least three years and reliable transportation a must. Experience in human services related field preferred. Training provided. Relief hours will vary.

A full time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position is available working with children and adults. Monday through Friday hours with no on-call or weekend hours.
The successful candidate will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and medication evaluations for adults with serious mental illness and/or children with serious emotional disturbances. Ability to work collaboratively with treatment team critical. Expert skills in diagnosing and treating mental illness. Position will promote wellness and provide patient education. Keyboarding skills essential to perform collaborative documentation. Valid NYS license as NP in Psychiatry and must possess certification as a Psychiatric mental health NP. Candidate must maintain a valid DEA license and be eligible for full and unconditional participation in Medicaid/Medicare and other third party insurance providers. Prior experience preferred.

VAN /BUS DRIVER (Transportation)
BHSN is seeking a per diem CDL Driver to provide transportation within Clinton County to transport adults to/from mental health programming. Split shifts may be either 6:30 AM – 8:45 AM and/or 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM as needed.  Qualifications include H.S. Diploma or equivalent, valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License with clean driving record. Must be at least 25 years of age and pass a mandatory physical, drug & alcohol testing and background checks. 

RESIDENTIAL RELIEF (All Shifts) (Residential)
Breakthrough II, a community residence for mentally ill adults, is seeking dependable and responsible adults for Relief positions. Duties include assisting counselors, providing client supervision in residential setting, record keeping and monitoring daily activities as necessary. Training provided. Previous experience in human services field preferred. Hours are Midnight to 8:00 AM and various other shifts to work on an as-needed basis available.
