BHSN Receives Mary Kay Ash Foundation Grant for Domestic Violence Prevention and Survivor Support Efforts

Behavioral Health Services North is excited to announce that it was awarded $20,000 from the Mary Kay Ash Foundation as part of their 2025 Domestic Violence Shelter Grant.
This grant supports STOP Domestic & Sexual Violence, a program of BHSN, in its efforts to eliminate domestic violence by providing survivors with resources to discover dignity and empowerment on their journey to a happier, healthier life.
"Receiving this award from the Mary Kay Ash Foundation is a meaningful recognition of the important work being done through BHSN's STOP Domestic and Sexual Violence Program. We are proud to stand with survivors and to provide compassionate services that help individuals and families rebuild their lives. This honor reflects the dedication of our team and the strength of the community partnerships that make our work possible," said Katherine Cook, President and CEO of BHSN.
“We are deeply honored and grateful to have been awarded this incredibly generous grant from the Mary Kay Foundation. We sincerely appreciate this investment in our mission and extend a special thank you to Ashley Muller for reaching out, taking the time to meet with us, and providing a letter of support,” said Tiana Barten, the Program Director of STOP Domestic & Sexual Violence, a program of BHSN.
“This funding will make a meaningful difference in our ability to provide direct support and essential resources to survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. These funds will help our advocates address barriers and challenges survivors face as they navigate their healing journeys and work toward safety, stability, and independence.”
Since its inception in 1996, the Mary Kay Ash Foundation has awarded over $98 million to eliminate domestic violence and find cures for cancers affecting women. By accepting this grant, BHSN, the Upstate New York region, and the world is one step closer to providing hope for survivors.
