It takes immense courage to seek help when experiencing intimate partner, gender-based, and/or sexual violence. Our STOP Domestic and Sexual Violence Program offers a compassionate, confidential, and comprehensive system of individualized support, advocacy, and emergency services. Our services are available 24/7 to help victims and survivors achieve safety.

Program Overview
STOP Domestic and Sexual Violence is a NYS OCFS certified program and Rape Crisis Center dedicated to creating safer communities by supporting survivors, educating the public, and collaborating with local stakeholders. We provide immediate crisis intervention and long-term support to address the full spectrum of violence.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Domestic and Intimate partner violence
Gender Based Violence
Sexual assault and sexual violence
Stalking
Coercive control
Financial, emotional, and mental abuse
Human trafficking
Our goal is to be a consistent source of support and advocacy, ensuring that survivors have the tools and resources they need to heal and move forward.

Services Offered
Our team provides a wide range of free services focused on immediate safety, legal/medical advocacy, and community support:
24/7 Crisis Support: Operating a 24/7 hotline (518-563-6904 or 1(888) 563-6904) for immediate connection to an advocate.
Emergency & Long-Term Housing: Providing access to safe housing, long-term housing, and related advocacy/support.
Safety Planning: Advocate assistance in creating personalized safety plan, for you, your family and your pets. This is different for each survivor, and is based on individual needs.
Advocacy & Legal Support:
Law enforcement advocacy and navigation support
Assistance with writing court order documentation and navigating the judicial system, including: Orders of Protection and child custody petitions, modifications, and violations.
Accompaniment and advocacy throughout the court process.
Medical Accompaniment: Providing accompaniment for domestic and/or sexual violence related medical-related appointments, including SANE exams and any appointment related to sexual and or intimate partner violence.
Resource Connection: Connecting survivors to necessary resources through direct advocacy and warm referrals.
Support Groups: Offering Support Groups to foster healing and peer connection.
Transportation: Providing transportation to safety, for medical/law enforcement related appointments, and Department of Social Services appointments (as available).
Community & Education: Conducting Community Outreach and Engagement (including In Service Trainings, tabling events, and educational efforts) to destigmatize survivor voices and promote accountability for those who have caused harm. Trainings provide awareness and offer technical assistance for creating Gender Based Violence Workplace policies, including best practices for supporting individuals experiencing violence.

We welcome anyone who identifies as a victim or survivor of domestic violence and/or a crime to reach out for free, confidential support.

Eligibility
Participants must identify as a victim of domestic violence and/or a crime. This includes victims and survivors of intimate partner, gender based, and sexual violence (e.g., stalking, coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and mental abuse, sexual assault, sexual violence, and human trafficking).
Insurance & Payment
Services are offered free of charge.
